Overview
Many states require that your business files an Article of Amendment when making any changes to your corporation.
We will prepare your Articles of Amendment for your review and submission to the appropriate state agency in any of the 50 states to amend your "Articles of Incorporation."
(An "Article of Incorporation" is one of the principle documents you receive when you form a business with us. It means that you are recognized under state law and are legally entitled to do business. This document is included in your Corporate Kit when you complete your business formation with us. Articles of Amendment are sometimes referred to as "Certificates of Amendment."
In addition to changing your company name, the filing of Articles of Amendment can change the following information:
- Name and address of the registered agent
- Principal office address
- Names and addresses of directors or members
- Description of business activities
- Number of authorized shares
- Any other information included in the Articles of Incorporation
The Process
- Fill out and submit the Articles of Amendment order form on our website.
- You will find requests for standard contact, billing, and authorization information, plus specific requests regarding your director and officer information along with amendment type, amendment details, and method of approval.
- MyCorporation will complete the necessary documentation for filing and will forward them to you for your signature.
- You send them back to us and we will file with the state.
- Once filed with the Secretary of State, the approved documents will be mailed to you for your records.
